Women’s denim in the archives sale

Denim holds a distinct place in the Soeur wardrobe. More rugged than the rest of the collections, it shares their cuts, making it easy to wear alongside them. The archives sale brings together denim pieces from past seasons at reduced prices, led by jeans and jeans shirts, alongside, depending on the collection, skirts or jackets cut from the same cloth. Jeans are what we slip on without a second thought on a Saturday morning, but a well-cut pair moves just as easily from the office to dinner.

A rugged fabric in a refined wardrobe

In a wardrobe of wool, silk and poplin, denim brings a more rugged counterpoint. Soeur gives it the same attention as its other fabrics, refining the cuts, topstitching and drape so that jeans sit naturally alongside a silk shirt or a wool coat. It is this blend of ease and elegance that gives the house its Parisian style: a woman who dresses quickly and well, without ever looking overdressed.

Jeans: a question of cut

The house’s jeans favour straight and wide-leg, high-waisted cuts, in denim that develops a patina over time and takes the shape of its wearer. Raw, washed or ecru, the shade is chosen to suit the rest of the wardrobe. Dark jeans work with deeper tones and a wool jacket, while light jeans call for lighter pieces. Straight-leg jeans remain a reliable choice for everyday wear; wide-leg jeans create a more pronounced silhouette. Washed infrequently, inside out and in cold water, jeans keep their colour much longer.

The jeans shirt, a piece in its own right

The denim shirt can be worn as an overshirt, open over a cotton T-shirt, or buttoned up and tucked into a trousers with pleats for a more relaxed office look. Head-to-toe denim also works at the weekend, provided the two shades are clearly distinct. The skirts and shorts in the Archives offer another option for warmer days.
